Javier Victorero

The work of Javier Victorero (Oviedo, 1967) has received large recognition from art critics such as Juan Manuel Bonet, Alfonso Palacio, Enrique Andrés Ruiz or Santos Amestoy, whose last review underlined the search for the glare of painting which this Asturian artist explores in the limits of visibility. His recent exhibitions in Spain reinforce the painting of a different light with formal planes which transmute into melodic compositions of blues, greens, ochres, yellows, reds, whites and blacks, alternating haziness with luminescence and maintaining structural accuracy and tension. Painting for painters, for in-depth glazes which are able to see the mysteries in small things. He is one of the revelations of Spanish painting in the last fifteen years and has been part of Puxagallery’s artistic roster since 2019, having solo exhibitions in 2020 and 2023.
