Ultimatum to Earth

During PhotoEspaña Festival Off 2019, Puxagallery presents the work of María Moldes (Pontevedra, 1974) and her project “Ultimatum to Earth”, which will take place in our gallery from May 30th until July 27th. The exhibition includes a selection of 30 photographs made in the area around the Mar Menor during the last three years and which thrives on ideas and ideals around the Anthropocene concept, analysing the impact of human beings in our natural environments.

Other photographs of this series will also be included at the PhotoEspaña Official Section as part of the group project “TransEurope” curated by Sema D’Acosta. In fact, María Moldes works have enjoyed an important echo in European and Northamerican artistic circuit encouraged by social networks and mediatic impact (The Guardian, Le Monde, Der Spiegel, El País, Daily Mail, El Mundo, CCN Photos, Courrier International, ABC…). In 2018, María Moldes was selected for the European Young Photograph Festival (Paris, 2018), she also presented her project Bloop at Museo Barjola thanks to the AlNorte Grant 2018.
