Marta Beltrán, one of the most unique voices in contemporary Spanish drawing, presents her first solo exhibition at Puxagallery.
“Life is Sweet” by Marta Beltrán is her first solo exhibition at Puxagallery who has been representing her work for the past two years and has included her in several group shows and international contemporary art fairs. From December 3rd, 2020, the exhibition will run until February 6th, 2021.
The project includes a series of works in different sizes which claim the liberation of the female figure based on the expansion of drawing as a daily record of daily events extracted from reality and media echoes, which are inspired by scenes and icons taken from the cinema or literature. Marta Beltrán’s expression of unconscious and emotional contents happens through her identification with these fictional practices and entails a deep approach to her expressive modes, her subjective narrative and her non-conformist gaze.
