Marta Beltran (Granada, 1977) has been included in the exhibition Born in the Seventies, on Contemporary Istanbul Fair. The curator, Juan Manuel Bonet, has chosen 21 emblematic works from 15 Spanish galleries for this event that is organized in Turkey with the support of the Ministry of International Cultural Relations of Madrid.
Doble Imaginado, from the series La vendedora de fósforos, stands out in this project by Marta Beltrán, where she continues to explore the expansion of drawing with inks on paper, as constant diaries that delve into the representation of the female figure and the expression of her unconscious and emotional contents. Her fictional practices are nourished by cinema and literature under an always nonconformist gaze. With a degree in Fine Arts from the University of Granada, where she currently also works as a teacher, Marta Beltrán has received important awards from La Rural (2018); Focus Abengoa (2015, 2014), Gregorio Prieto (2015, 2007), Ciudad de Alcalá (2015) or Real Academia de Bellas Artes de Granada (2008, 2007, 2005), among many others. In 2020 he presented his first solo exhibition at Puxagallery and has participated in other fairs and collective projects of our gallery.
