Manuel Vilariño

Nature, introspection and subtle dialogue are the key elements of Manuel Vilariño (La Coruña, 1952) whose work frees our imagination through worldviews which discover intimate and emotional parts, and which speak of the passing of time, words and the sounds of silence. In 2007 he received the National Award of Photography when representing Spain at the 52 Venice Biennale. Many authors have written about his work, some poets like Antonio Gamoneda, Chantal Maillard or Juan Barja, some writers as Manolo Rivas, philosophers as Félix Duque, and numerous art critics. He has exhibited in both, galleries and museums, in Europe, United States and South America. His works belong to collections such as National Museum Reina Sofía, Museum of Fine Arts Boston, MEIAC, CGAC, ARTIUM, IVAM, María Cristina Masaveu Peterson Foundation, Coca-Cola Collection and Telefónica Foundation.
